The Wedding Party

Kwame Boateng is Damon's "brother from another mother." They have been best friends since age 4, met in pre-school in East Orange, NJ, and at some point decided to refer to each other as brothers. They have gone on numerous adventures, tried and failed various get-rich-quick schemes, and have spent countless sleepless nights either playing video games or drawing comics. Kwame is now a Major in the US Army, a West Point graduate, husband of Danielle Baynes-Boateng, and father of Payton and Paige. Kwame and his family graciously hosted Eve and Damon in Hawaii in 2016, as a part of the now de-classified "Operation Moana."

Amanda Torres is Eve’s dear sisterfriend, patient supporter in all things, collaborator, and partner in creating beauty in the world and doing good things where possible. She loves avocados and science fiction, is an amazing poet, and lives in New York with her partner, EM. Eve & Amanda met when they were both 15-year-olds at Young Chicago Authors and became close friends in Boston while organizing youth poetry slams together. Amanda has the kindest heart and the best laugh. Amanda is a genius and much like her distant cousin B’elana Torres of Star Trek: Voyager, she would make a great Starfleet lieutenant.
